CRM migration lists and files sample note, fixed

The Objects step in Shuttio now shows the line "Lists and files move with the full migration." only when it applies to your pair. If your pair carries neither lists nor files, the line is gone. Nothing about the migration itself changed.

What changed

Until now, the Objects step printed that line for every pair. That included pairs that have no lists and no files, so the line described objects you could not tick anyway.

Shuttio now prints the line when the Objects page has at least one of these:

• a Lists row that is available for your pair,
• a Files row that is available for your pair,
• the Files tick under "Also move:".

If none of these is on the page, the line is hidden.

Two cases stay hidden regardless:

• CSV imports. A CSV import has no sample. It starts as the full run, so the line never applied.
• Remapping a migration. The line is not shown on that screen either.

The rule behind the line is unchanged. Lists and files are not part of the free sample. They move when you run the full migration.

How to use it

You do not need to change anything. These are the steps where you will see the effect:

1. Open the migration and pick the source and the destination on the from / to screen.
2. Connect both ends on the Connect step.
3. On the Objects step, tick the objects to move. If your pair has lists or files, look under the "Also move:" group. The line "Lists and files move with the full migration." appears at the bottom of the step. If your pair has neither, the step shows no such line.
4. Click "Review fields →" and check every field.
5. Start the free sample. For a connected CRM, Shuttio picks the records at random: 5% of your companies, contacts or deals, 10 to 1,000 records, with their linked records.
6. Open the result in your destination. The run page shows the counted total. When you are satisfied, click "Run full migration". Lists and files move in that run.

Read the sample result with this in mind. If you ticked lists or the Files option, they are not in the sample, and an empty lists view in your destination after the sample is expected.

What it does not cover

• The sample still skips lists and files. The change only fixes when the note appears. It does not add lists or files to the sample.
• A CSV import is not affected. It has no sample and no note.
• The note does not decide what your pair supports. It only reports that lists or files wait for the full run. To see what does not cross for a pair, read the "things that don't move" section on that pair's page on https://www.shuttio.com.
• An object that cannot be read is named on the run page and also moves with the full migration. That message is separate from this note.

FAQ

My pair shows no note. Are my lists and files missing? No. The Objects step shows the note only when your pair has lists, files or the Files tick on the page. If none of them is there, there is nothing for the note to describe.

Does the sample include my lists if I tick them? No. Lists and files are not in the free sample. They move with the full migration.

Does this change the price or the sample size? No. The sample rule is the same: 5% of your companies, contacts or deals, at least 10 and at most 1,000 records. Into Attio the full run is free. Into Clarify or Odoo, a CRM migration is priced once by record count, and the run page shows the price before the full run starts.
