Migrate tasks and meetings to Odoo as activities

Through the Shuttio Odoo app, open tasks now arrive as scheduled To-Do activities and meetings as Calendar events, not chatter notes. Rollback removes them.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

When you migrate into Odoo through the Shuttio app, an open task on a contact, company or deal arrives as a scheduled To-Do activity. A meeting arrives as a Calendar event.

Tick the task and meeting objects of your source and they are written this way.

What changed

The Shuttio app is the Odoo write mode where you install a free app in Odoo and press Connect migration. It writes two kinds of record as their own Odoo records, not as notes.

Open tasks. An open task on a contact, company or deal becomes a scheduled activity on that record.

  • The activity has the task's subject as its summary.
  • The task's deadline becomes the activity's due date.
  • The owner is matched to an Odoo user by email. If no Odoo user matches, the activity goes to the fallback user you chose on the field review.
  • The activity type is left to Odoo's default, which is To-Do. The app does not choose a type.

Meetings. A meeting on a contact, company or deal becomes a Calendar event linked to that record.

  • The event keeps the meeting's start and end. An all-day meeting stays all-day.
  • The contacts and companies the meeting names become attendees. The app leaves out any that are not in Odoo.
  • The description carries the meeting's text, a "With:" line naming the other participants, and the organizer from the source.

Shuttio records each of these in its ledger under its own Odoo model, so rollback can remove them.

How to use it

  1. Start a migration with Odoo as the destination and pick the Odoo app on the connect step.
  2. In Odoo, install the free Shuttio app (shuttio_agent).
  3. In Odoo, open Settings and press Connect migration. Shuttio shows a consent page with your Odoo address and database. Confirm it there.
  4. On the objects step, tick the task and meeting objects of your source.
  5. On the field review, find the Odoo section and set "Owner when no Odoo user matches". Shuttio never creates Odoo users.
  6. Start the free sample. Open a contact or deal in Odoo and check its scheduled activities and its Calendar events.
  7. If the sample looks right, run the full migration.

If you cancel, rollback removes the activities and events along with the other records the migration created. A Calendar event stays in place if someone added a comment or an activity to it in Odoo.

What it does not cover

  • Done tasks, notes and calls are still written as chatter notes.
  • A task or meeting on any other parent, such as a ticket or an order, is still a chatter note.
  • A meeting without a usable start and end time is still a chatter note.

The Odoo API connection already wrote open tasks as activities and meetings as events before this change. The import package works differently: it puts tasks and meetings into each record's internal note.

FAQ

Can I choose the activity type? No. The app leaves the type to Odoo's default, To-Do.

What if a task's owner has no Odoo user? If you chose a fallback user on the field review, the activity is assigned to that user. Shuttio never creates Odoo users.

Is there a free way to try this? Yes. A migration from a connected CRM starts with a free sample of every ticked object: 5% of its records, at least 10 and at most 1,000, picked at random. Into Odoo, the full run is priced once by record count, from $249 for up to 50,000 records, and the price is shown before it starts. A CSV import into Odoo is free.
