HubSpot to Attio employee range: values fit Attio's ranges

Migrating companies into Attio now writes each Employee range value into the Attio range its head count falls in, instead of failing the schema build.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Shuttio now writes each company Employee range value into the Attio range that holds its head count. A source value of 1-5 goes to 1-10, 25-50 goes to 11-50, and 1000+ goes to 1K-5K. Before this change, a migration that carried new Employee range options could fail during its schema build. You can now migrate companies with that field, and you do not need to clean the values first.

What changed

Shuttio no longer plans new options on Attio's employee_range field of the Companies object. It reads the ranges that exist in your Attio workspace and places each source value in one of them. At the last check, those ranges were 1-10, 11-50, 51-250, 251-1K, 1K-5K, 5K-10K, 10K-50K, 50K-100K and 100K+. The live list in your workspace decides, not this one.

The head count of a source value is worked out like this:

  • A range such as 25-50 counts as its upper number, 50, so it lands in 11-50.
  • An open value such as 1000+ or 10,001 or more counts as one above the number, so 1000+ lands in 1K-5K.
  • A plain number counts as itself.
  • A value that already matches an Attio range by name stays as it is.

A second change protects the rest of the run. If Attio refuses to add an option to a field whose options are fixed, Shuttio drops that option and keeps building. Any other permission error still stops the run, so a missing scope on your connection does not get hidden.

How to use it

You do not switch anything on. The rule applies to every migration into Attio that writes this field.

  1. Open the intake screen at https://www.shuttio.com and pick your source and Attio as the destination.
  2. Connect both accounts on the Connect step.
  3. On the objects step, tick Companies.
  4. On the fields step, review the company fields. Leave the source field that holds your size ranges mapped to Employee range.
  5. From a connected CRM, start the free sample. When companies are the top object of your selection, Shuttio writes a random 5% of them, at least 10 and at most 1,000. Open a few sampled companies in Attio and check the Employee range. A CSV import has no sample and starts as the full run.
  6. Choose "Run full migration" when the sample looks right. A move into Attio is free at any record count.

What it does not cover

  • A value with no head count is not written. Unknown, Self-employed or an empty label has no number to place, so the company imports without an Employee range. Shuttio reports each dropped value.
  • A range that crosses two Attio ranges follows its upper number. 11-100 has an upper number of 100, so it lands in 51-250, not in 11-50.
  • A number below 1 is dropped. There is no range for it.
  • Only this field is handled this way. The rule covers the Employee range field of the Companies object, and only when that field exists in your workspace. Other select fields are not mapped to ranges. If Attio refuses a new option on another field whose options are fixed, Shuttio drops only that option, as described above.
  • Shuttio does not add ranges. It never creates a new Employee range option in your workspace, so the list your team sees in Attio stays as it was.

FAQ

Will my companies still import if some Employee range values have no number? Yes. Only the Employee range value of those companies is left out. The records themselves import, and Shuttio reports each dropped value so you can fix it afterwards.

Can I get a different range for one company? Shuttio picks the range from the number alone. To set a different range for one company, change the value on that company in Attio after the run.

Does a rollback remove these values? Cancelling deletes the records the migration created, and the Employee range values go with them. Shuttio did not create any range options, so there are none to remove. A company that already existed in Attio and was matched stays in place.
