Migration nothing connected: reminder email after 24 h

Shuttio emails the person who set up a CRM migration once, 24 hours later, if no CRM is connected. The sample notes now flag unticked linked objects.

Last updated: 6 November 2026

If you set up a migration from a connected CRM and leave before connecting anything, Shuttio now sends you one email 24 hours later. It names the source and the destination, links to the Connect step and says that nothing has moved. Two smaller changes shipped with it: the sample explains when links to an unticked object are left out, and an Attio to Attio migration now says which workspace is which.

What changed

Reminder email. When you create a migration, Shuttio schedules a check for 24 hours later. At that point it looks at the migration once. If it is still a draft and no connection exists for it, the person who created it gets an email.

The email subject reads "Connect source and destination to start MIG-…". The body says you set up the migration on a given date, that nothing is connected yet and that nothing has moved. It links to the migration's Connect step and suggests running the free sample before the full migration. It closes by saying that this is the only reminder.

Sample note for unticked objects. Meetings and calls link to other objects, such as companies. If an object they link to is not ticked on the Objects step, those links cannot be migrated. The sample now says so once per unticked object, in its notes. For companies the note reads: "Companies are not in this migration, so links from meetings and calls to companies are left out. Tick companies on the Objects step to keep them."

Attio to Attio. The Connect step now says: "Connect two Attio workspaces: the source is the one you copy from, the destination is the one you copy into." The two cards are labelled "Attio (source)" and "Attio (destination)". The reminder email says "It needs two Attio workspaces: the source is the one you copy from, the destination is the one you copy into." Its subject becomes "Connect both Attio workspaces to start MIG-…".

How to use it

  1. Set up a migration from a connected CRM and stop at the Connect step. Nothing else is needed to get the reminder.
  2. Open the email 24 hours later and follow the link to the Connect step.
  3. Connect the destination and the source. For Attio to Attio, connect the workspace you copy from as the source and the one you copy into as the destination.
  4. Choose objects and review fields. Tick every object that your meetings, calls and other activities link to, such as companies.
  5. Start the free sample (50 records per object). Read its notes. If a note says links to an object are left out, go back to the Objects step and tick that object.
  6. Check the sample result, then run the full migration. The price, if any, is shown before it starts.

If you no longer need the migration, ignore the email. Nothing is sent again.

What it does not cover

  • One email per migration. There is no second reminder. A send that fails is not retried.
  • CSV migrations get no reminder. The check skips any migration whose source is a CSV.
  • Any connection stops it. If one connection exists for the migration when the check runs, no email is sent. The email does not track whether both sides are connected.
  • Only drafts. If the migration has left the draft state, nothing is sent.
  • The note does not add the object. The sample note tells you to tick the object. It does not tick it for you.
  • Sample note scope. It appears for activities (such as meetings and calls) whose linked object is not ticked.

FAQ

Who receives the email? The user who created the migration, at the email address on their Shuttio account.

Does the reminder change my migration? No. It writes a timestamp to the migration's summary to guarantee a single send, and it leaves the migration's last-updated time alone. Nothing moves until you review fields and start the sample.

Why did my sample say companies are left out? Your meetings or calls link to companies, and companies were not ticked on the Objects step. Tick companies on the Objects step to keep those links.
