Migration review fields button not responding: fixed

On the Objects step, Review fields now saves the Files choice and continues on the first click. The button shows Loading fields… and ignores repeat clicks.

If Review fields on the Objects step seemed to do nothing when you clicked it, that is fixed. When the Files tick is shown, the button now saves your Files choice and then opens the Fields page on the first click. While it saves, the button reads "Loading fields…" and ignores further clicks.

What changed

The Objects step shows a Files tick under "Also move" for pairs that can carry files. Shuttio saves that tick as the run's Attachments option. It saves each change at once, one save at a time.

Review fields leaves the step, so it first waits for the latest Files choice to reach the server. Shuttio does this so the run does not move files you turned off.

Now the order is fixed:

  1. You click Review fields.
  2. The button switches to "Loading fields…" and is disabled.
  3. Shuttio saves the Files choice, after any save already running.
  4. When the save succeeds, the form is submitted again and the Fields page loads.

How to use it

  1. Pick the source and destination, connect both, and reach the Objects step.
  2. Tick the objects you want to migrate.
  3. Under "Also move", set the Files tick the way you want it. It is a checkbox labelled Files. The choice is saved as soon as you change it.
  4. Click Review fields → once.
  5. Wait while the button reads "Loading fields…". The Fields page reads the source live, so the wait can last seconds.
  6. Review the fields. Nothing is written to the destination until you have reviewed the fields and started the free 50-record sample.

You do not need to click again. A second click during the wait does nothing, so it cannot send the form twice.

If the Files tick is not on your Objects step, the button does not need to save anything first. The save-then-continue flow described here applies only when the tick is shown.

What it does not cover

  • The button stays on the step until the Files save succeeds. If the save fails, Shuttio shows the error "Could not save the Files choice. Try again." in red next to the Files tick, puts the button back to "Review fields →", and keeps you on the Objects step. Click the button again to retry. Shuttio saves the latest choice again on that click.
  • The Files tick is not on every pair. It appears only where the pair can carry files and Files is not already a row of its own. Where it is absent, the button does not wait for a save.
  • The Files tick is not shown during a field remap. When the step is opened to remap fields, the tick is not shown and the button submits as before.
  • The fix does not speed up the Fields page. Shuttio reads your source live to build it, and that read still takes the time it takes. The "Loading fields…" label now covers the save and that read.

FAQ

Why does the first click wait now? Shuttio holds the first click while it saves the Files choice, then submits the form again in a new browser task. The one-time pass for that re-submit is cleared right after it, so a dropped re-submit cannot let a later click through with an unsaved choice.

I see "Could not save the Files choice. Try again." What do I do? Click Review fields again. Shuttio tries to save the latest Files choice once more. If you changed the tick in between, the new value is the one it saves. Until a save succeeds you stay on the Objects step, because moving on would risk a run that handles files differently from what you chose.

Does clicking Review fields write anything to my destination? No. Review fields saves your Files choice, submits your object ticks and opens the Fields page. It writes no records. Records are written only after you start the free sample, which copies 50 records per object. The price for Clarify or Odoo is shown before the full run starts, and moves into Attio are free at any record count.
